Margaret is a journalist focusing on politics and the way it affects people’s lives.  She has written and produced for prime time cable shows like Countdown With Keith Olbermann and The Ed Show.  Right now, she is a Segment Producer at CNN.  She’s also collaborated with other media outlets including The New York Times, VICE, Refinery29, MSNBC, Bustle, HuffPost and ABC. 

Not only is Margaret a real-life journalist, she also played one on TV in the hit HBO drama, The Newsroom. Upon discovering her in her real news job at MSNBC, Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin asked Margaret to become a regular on the show and to join the writers' room as a consultant.

 

Originally from Chicago, Margaret graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Spanish. 

She serves as a Fellow for the Tribeca Disruptor's Foundation, in collaboration with the Tribeca Film Festival, a non-profit whose mission is to raise awareness and encourage the advancement of disruptive innovation theory and its application in societally-critical domains.
